N.NAIL 15 Pieces Brush Set With Case [JR1129] ReviewOver the past few years, I’ve gone from someone who only wore black nail polish (lawl gawfic, right?) to someone who loves doing nail art, the brighter, the better. This year, I started incorporating acrylic paints into my nail art. I also started experimenting with different nail art brushes. Today, I’m going to review the N.NAIL 15 Piece Brush Set With Case from KKCenterHK. Let’s take a look…
WHAT IS IT?
N.NAIL 15 Pieces Brush Set With Case [JR1129]The N.Nail 15 Piece Brush Set is a set of fifteen nail art brushes that come conveniently packaged in a neat black case. According to KKCenterHk, the synthetic brush kit includes:
  • Pull Pen x2
  • Line Pen x1
  • Painting pen x1
  • Paint pen x 1
  • Spread pen x 4
  • Dot Pen x 1
  • Sketch Pen x1
  • Fan-shaped Pen x2
  • Gel Nail Pen x 2
I’m not expert when it comes to names, honestly.  But I’ll take their word for it. And then flout it to use each pen for whatever I want. Lol.

HOW DID IT PERFORM?
First of all, I have to say that I’m a big fan of the case. Mostly because I constantly lose all my nail brushes.  Admittedly I still managed to misplace one (the short one) before taking these photographs, but still, it encourages me to put them back in one place.
As for the brushes, they’re made from relatively good quality synthetic bristles and I haven’t noticed them shedding yet. Although some of the brushes seem similar, the set is quite versatile.
N.NAIL 15 Pieces Brush Set With Case [JR1129]These wide angle brushes here are good for a number of things. A few of them I’ve designated as clean up brushes. They’re perfect (not too soft, not too hard) to dip in pure acetone and run along the edges of my nails to clean up any messy edges. So far, the acetone hasn’t done them much harm. But I should warn you that the product description tells you to clean the brushes with water, not acetone.
However, they’re also useful for creating zig-zag patterns and one stroke flowers (which I’ve yet to master).

Two of these brushes I use for striping.
striping brush nail artThis is an example of some of the designs I’ve created in the past with my trusty striping brushes.  It’s a lot easier than using a toothpick to draw lines, let me tell you.
The third brush there (on bottom), I use for detailing. However, it’s not quite small enough for a lot of my more complex designs, so I often use a brush from another set for those.

However, these are good for creating gradient washes of colour. I last used them when I did these Midnight Syndicate nails to help transition between the blue and the purple mist.
I… can’t actually find my photo of the remaining brushes. Grr. But these two in particular are worth mentioning:
N.NAIL 15 Pieces Brush Set With Case [JR1129] ReviewOn the left, we’ve got a brush with a strange bend in it. At first, it looks awkward. Actually, it’s great for when I’m painting larger areas on my nails but still need to be precise. The odd angle of the neck somehow makes my wrist movements a lot more fluid and less strained. I hope that makes sense? Lol. I do use it for detailing, but it’s larger than I’d like.
The brush on the right is actually a dotting tool and quite a small one at that. I’ve tried using toothpicks as dotting tools in the past, but it’s hard to beat the real thing. It’s one of the first tools any new nail art enthusiast should play with.  Here are some nails I’ve done previously that heavily utilised a dotting tool:

As you can see, this set is pretty useful for someone who wants to get a comprehensive bundle of tools. It can be hard to know how to pick out your own brushes when you’re just starting out and this removes some of that challenge.
However, I feel like they should have included some smaller detailing brushes, instead of two fan brushes or something. None of these brushes are delicate enough for painting the finer points onto my nails.  That’s my own real complaint.
